Dr. Michael Aepli wrote the dissertation "The procedural seizure of electronically stored data in criminal law". In the Basel Commentary on international mutual assistance in criminal matters, he commented on Art. 18 (provisional measures), Art. 18a (surveillance of postal and telecommunications traffic), Art. 74 (handing over of evidence) and Art. 74a IMAC (handing over of objects or assets for the purpose of forfeiture or return). Dr. Michael Aepli has worked on various scientific publications and has written articles on the law of submission, road traffic and free movement of persons, the consumer credit law as well as house searches and seizures.
